Job Opportunity: WRAC Association Secretary

The Association Secretary is responsible to the Trustees for the day to day management of
the Association office and its associated functions. The role has important internal and
external facing aspects requiring the incumbent to conduct themselves in a manner that
understands the Charity’s Objects to a high degree, adapting their approach to suit the
circumstance on each occasion, and always working within the team to achieve an
organisational objective. There is a team of 4 salaried (part-time) staff supporting the Board
of Trustees. The office serves a wider Branch community membership that operates on a
voluntary basis in regions throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities

● Organises Trustees, Council and Executive & Finance Committee Meetings; acts as
Secretary to the meetings.
● Organises the Annual General Meeting and associated function; acts as Secretary to
the meetings.
● Prepares, plans and executes the organisation of a Grand Reunion every third year
in conjunction with the Chairman of the Executive & Finance Committee.
● Editor of biannual Association Journal, Lioness.
● Acts as liaison between Charity Commission and Trustees.
● Oversees the Association geographical network of affiliated Branches by maintaining
contact with Area Chairmen and Branch Secretaries.
● Responsible for the day to day management of the Association Website and Social
Media channels in terms of content and currency.
● Oversees HQ Association Office and the Office Manager’s responsibilities which
include maintenance of the membership database, subscriptions and administration
of Association Memorabilia.
● Answer s external queries and liaises with; Association members, other Regimental
Associations, the Curator of the AGC Museum and other external agencies as
● Maintains the accuracy, integrity and currency of the Association’s history.
● Acts as Association’s Project Manager for ‘one-off’ projects.
